We’re also thrilled to share exciting developments from one of our member cities. València has just launched its Music City 2030 strategy - a long-term plan to position the city as a leading cultural hub through music.
The initiative takes a holistic approach:
supporting not only flagship festivals and institutions, but also grassroots venues and traditional bands,
strengthening music education, research, and innovation,
and ensuring diverse voices are represented through a new advisory council and sector-specific working groups.
As part of the Music Cities Network, we’re excited to follow the city’s progress and exchange learnings - a perfect example of how member cities are shaping strategies that blend global ambition with local authenticity.
This development was guided by general coordinator Juan Pablo Valero García, who we - on another note - want to cordially welcome as the new representative for Valencia at MCN! We are very much looking forward to working together with you and your expertise and dedication!

”Music has the power to transform societies, to make them better. The strong presence of music in Valencia throughout the centuries is a testament to this for us. Therefore, belonging to MCN has been the definitive boost to position music in the place it deserves: a strategic position that transcends the cultural sphere and transversally encompasses all aspects of the life of our city and our citizens. To make them better. To make us better.”
says Juan Pablo Valero García, Managing Director Valencia Music Cityat Valencia City Council
